If someone leans toward dominance or submission in BDSM, what are they like outside sexual behavior?

Participants answered surveys about their BDSM behavior and behavior outside sexual relationships - how often they leaned toward dominance or submission outside BDSM.

Shown: 55% of those who lean toward dominance in BDSM also lean toward dominance outside sexual practices. 46% of those who lean toward submission in BDSM also lean toward submission outside sexual practices. People who don’t have a clear role preference in BDSM also don’t lean toward submission or dominance in everyday life. Submission is more common among people with lower socioeconomic status and lower education levels. These effects hold regardless of gender. The idea that BDSM roles are compensatory seems to be wrong (a dominant boss at work who’s a submissive slave in BDSM).
