A new study on marriage statistics in Finland has been released.
Sample: data on 339 401 opposite-sex marriages and 3 780 same-sex marriages (37% male couples, 63% female couples).
The authors analyzed data on all marriages registered in Finland from 2002 to 2017. Couples were tracked until divorce or until 2021.
Shown: opposite-sex couples have the lowest divorce rate - 21%, followed by male same-sex couples - 24%, and the highest divorce rate is among female same-sex couples - 40%. One of the biggest risk factors is if one partner is not from Finland and the other is a native Finn - however, this factor is not significant for female same-sex couples. The most favorable factor is if one partner has a high income (in opposite-sex couples, this is more often a man). Religion has a positive effect if both partners are members of the same church. Data from Finland only.
The international LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia.
