How to reduce unethical behavior in narcissists?

Sample: 164 full-time employees.

Participants underwent an assessment of narcissism. They were then divided into three groups and given a task to solve anagrams for monetary reward. One group earned more money for each word solved, another received a fixed reward, and the third was given extra time to deliberate. Results were self-reported, but one anagram was unsolvable.

Shown: 42% of all participants falsely reported their results, indicating unethical behavior. Narcissists were more likely to cheat when earnings depended on performance, but this effect disappeared in groups with fixed earnings and extra deliberation time. The observed effect was small.
