What are the political preferences of intellectually gifted people?

Sample: 87 subjects with an IQ over 130 points and 71 subjects with an IQ around 100 points.

Seven thousand children were studied, and those with an IQ above 130 were selected, along with a group of children with an IQ around 100, which did not differ from the gifted group in other aspects. After 35 years, the political views of these two groups were examined.

Shown: no differences in political views were found. This includes both the left-right political continuum and surveys on specific ideologies such as economic libertarianism, socialism, and liberalism. The only difference found was that men with average IQ were more inclined toward conservatism compared to men with high IQ. This effect was not observed in women. Thus, high IQ is not associated with a preference for any particular group of political ideas.
