What's the deal with subjective mental health among workers in different industries?
Sample: 469 129 participants.
Participants completed a survey where they indicated their industry, demographic information, and subjective mental health metrics.
Shown: connections were found between a worker's industry and both positive and negative subjective mental health metrics. Workers in retail, hospitality, arts and design, media, and healthcare most frequently reported depression, stress, and emotional difficulties. The effect was stronger among young people under 34, women and single individuals. The results are entirely based on self-reports. It's more about workers in certain industries being more likely to report mental health issues for some reason.
