Sample: 20 486 white men from New Zealand.

From 2014 to 2023 participants took surveys where they indicated the degree of discrimination based on ethnicity and gender that they experienced.

Shown: 83% of white men reported a low level of discrimination throughout the observation period. This group is favorably disposed toward minorities, supports progressive policies, and is characterized by a high level of well-being. 8% reported a moderate level of discrimination - they consider themselves economically disadvantaged, experience higher levels of stress, and hold conservative beliefs. The remaining 8% reported an initially low but growing level of perceived discrimination. The spike in discrimination in the last group is associated with the period after 2016, following Trump’s election and the MeToo movement. In short, most men believe they are not discriminated.
