Who remembers dreams more often?
Who remembers dreams more often?
Sample: 204 participants.
Participants were given voice recorders and instructed to record a report every morning for two weeks, detailing whether they had dreamt and the content of their dreams. Additionally, wearable devices were used to track sleep characteristics, along with cognitive and psychological assessments.
Shown: people who have a positive attitude towards dreams and are prone to daydreaming tend to remember their dreams more frequently. The nature of sleep is crucial - longer periods of light sleep increase the likelihood of waking up with a memory of a dream. Younger individuals remember their dreams more often, while older adults do so less frequently. Dreams are remembered more often in the summer than in the winter. Older adults are more likely to have "empty" dream memories - they remember having dreamt but not the content.
